Building
from the inside

out.

LSR Media House CIC is a research and community organisation based in Southwark, South London. We study what others overlook, and we build what the system doesn't offer.

A new kind of research and community organisation.

LSR stands for Love, Strength, Rebirth. We're a Community Interest Company registered in 2025, built on the principle that the people most affected by broken systems are also the people best placed to study, understand, and change them.

We sit at the intersection of technology ethics, equitable research, and community care. Our methodology is lived experience, not assumption. Our frame is people-centric, beginning from the lenses most often left out. The melanated lens is our origin point: not an exclusion, but a truer starting place that honours every perspective that engages with it.

Founder Jermaine A. Johnson (The Architect of Soul and Systems) built this company from pressure, not privilege. Caribbean born. South London raised. Neurodivergence lived. The work carries all of that. And transforms it.

Two layers.
One company.

LSR operates through Research and Community simultaneously. Not as separate divisions, but as two sides of the same practice.

01 — Research

Where intelligence
meets equality.

We build research methodologies and tools that centre the knowledge, experience, and dignity of marginalised communities. We study how technology, social systems, and environmental forces affect human beings. Especially those from melanated and diasporic communities. We curate evidence that carries texture, not just numbers.

02 — Community

Where the work
becomes real.

We work with communities through listening, facilitated spaces, cultural workshops, wellbeing conversations and practical partnerships. This includes current work around men's wellbeing and future circle pilots, while also reaching toward youth, women, elders, families and the everyday spaces where people are already gathering.

"We are not adjacent to the data.
We are the data."

The melanated
lens is the
origin point...
of this story

Every research tradition begins somewhere. Every technology is designed by someone. Most of the frameworks that govern our lives, in healthcare, finance, education, housing, were designed from positions that often did not look like us, listen to us, or include the fullness of our experience.

LSR's work starts from a different origin. The melanated lens does not mean exclusion. It means beginning from a perspective too often left at the door. From there, LSR builds methods that can honour other ignored lenses too: Indigenous, diasporic, working-class, neurodivergent, disabled, and community-rooted ways of knowing.

This is not a diversity statement. It is a worldview. Humanitarian forward. Rooted in ancestry, alive in the present, building toward a future where no community has to fight for the legitimacy of their experience.

"We are not building for a niche. We are building from a truer starting point: one that honours all lenses by beginning from the one most frequently ignored."

"Power anywhere
where there's people."
— Fred Hampton

Care is infrastructure.

Culture is intelligence.

LSR — Building from the inside out.

This is happening now.
Not conceptually.

Listening work, active research, published work, and careful pilot development. All moving with public-safe boundaries.

LSR FRAMEWORK

Care-Centric Architecture

Care-Centric Architecture is LSR's design principle for building physical, digital, and relational spaces around care from the beginning, not as an afterthought. It shapes how we think about workshops, community listening, AI tools, research environments, and the emotional conditions people need before they can speak honestly. Every system reflects the values of its designer. Ours begins with a different question: not how do we manage risk, but how do we hold people appropriately.

LSR Framework

01

Men's Wellbeing Listening Work

LSR is currently gathering community insight around men's wellbeing, safe spaces, and cultural trust across Southwark and nearby South London communities. Alongside this listening work, Jermaine contributes to facilitated wellbeing spaces and community conversations, helping shape what LSR-led men's circle pilots may need to become before they are formally launched.

Listening Stage

02

A Methodology in Development

We are building a research instrument unlike anything currently in use, designed to capture what surveys miss and what interviews flatten: the lived texture of navigating institutional spaces as a person whose credibility is already in question. Community-led. Experience-first. The architecture is complete. Not yet public.

LSR Community Insight

Community insight is only useful if it's gathered responsibly, translated carefully, and shared without exposing the people who trusted you with it. LSR is building the infrastructure for exactly that: the tools, protocols, and ethical frameworks that let lived experience become evidence, without losing what makes it true.

The Spiral: A Quiet Rebellion

The book by Jermaine A. Johnson. Drawing together the intellectual threads of LSR: spiral thinking as methodology, the melanated lens as starting point, and the case for systems built from lived experience rather than extracted from it. Available now.

How are you feeling?

LSR is currently hosting a men's wellbeing and community support check-in to better understand what men across Southwark and nearby South London communities are carrying, what support feels missing, and what kind of spaces may feel safe enough to trust. This is listening-stage work. Not a clinical assessment, therapy service, or crisis route. It helps LSR understand what may need to be built carefully in the future.

Take the Men's Wellbeing Check-In

New listening tools and community insight reports coming soon.

This check-in is not a crisis service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999 or go to A&E. For urgent mental health help that is not an emergency, contact NHS 111 and select the mental health option.

We build carefully.
Not quickly.

LSR is a CIC. No shareholders, asset lock, designed for community benefit. Our partnerships are chosen for alignment, not volume. We are not scaling. We are deepening.

If your work touches research, healthcare, education, housing, AI ethics, or community funding, and something here has landed for you, we want to hear from you.

LSR is also exploring how ethical AI, digital tools, and community research methods can support people who are often excluded from technological futures: not by extracting from their experience, but by building with their realities in mind.

If something here
landed for you

reach out. We want to build carefully, not quickly. That means the right partners, the right timing, the right kind of work. Based in Southwark, South London, with work and relationships reaching across Lewisham, Deptford, New Cross, Bermondsey, Surrey Quays and the wider communities where this work matters.

LSR holds lived experience knowledge across research and community practice, ethical AI, Black and diasporic experience, neurodivergence, men's wellbeing, and systems change. If your work calls for that kind of grounding, the partnership and consultation links below are the right starting point.

Jermaine is also available for keynote speaking, panels, and research events.

Jermaine writes on AI ethics, culture, neurodivergence and diasporic systems in the Culture X Code newsletter on LinkedIn.
